What are the types of Dental Braces?

Metal Conventional Braces:

These are the traditional and most common types of braces. There is no age limit attached to these, as patients of all ages can choose to straighten their teeth using metal braces.

Metal Self Ligating Braces:

These are Metal Brackets with a lock system and do not require the use of elastic to tie the wire. Metal self-ligating braces are more comfortable and effective than traditional metal braces. These can be used in achieving arch expansion and minimizing the need for extraction.

Ceramic Braces:

Ceramic braces are the ones with tooth-colored brackets. They use tooth color to help blend more naturally with your teeth. As these are less visible on the teeth, they are preferred by older teenagers and adults with aesthetic concerns.

Lingual Braces:

Lingual Braces are braces that are placed on the backside of the teeth, i.e., the side towards the tongue and palate. The brackets in this type of braces are customized using CAD-CAM / 3D Designing. The treatment is highly aesthetic as the metal isn’t usually visible. This can cause mild speech difficulties during the course of the treatment.
