What is tooth extraction?
Extraction of a tooth is a procedure in which a tooth is removed from the gum socket. This procedure is carried out under local anesthesia, which causes numbing of the area around the tooth so that you would feel no pain while removing the teeth.
Why do we need to extract the tooth?
Every tooth in the mouth is more valuable than a diamond. This is why tooth removal is the last option which we consider. But sometimes, this situation may arise due to extensive tooth decay, infection or pain, compromised or broken tooth, removal to provide other teeth to grow for those who are planning for braces treatment, and severe mobility of tooth due to periodontitis.
What are various types of tooth extraction?
The two types of extraction are simple extraction and surgical extraction. The type of extraction depends on whether the tooth is visible (completely erupted in the mouth) or is impacted in the jaw bone. It also depends on the mobility of the tooth and previous treatment done in the tooth.
