In the times of the growing Global Pandemic, social distancing and self protection are the key features to stay safe and healthy. With the world changing around us we need to gear up for all the possible odds.
Out of all the healthcare services, Dentistry is the one where the Doctor is in closest contact with the patient. This builds a fear in the patient’s mind and prevents the patient from getting dental treatment in the time of need. At Ideal Dental Care we take care of each and every protocol to protect the Dentist as well as the patient.
So, here’s the enhanced list of safety measures Ideal Dental has adopted for combatting Covid-19 to ensure a 100% sterile and safe environment for our Patients, Doctors & Staff.
Dental machines run at a very high speed in the wet environment of the mouth. They can generate Aerosol which may carry germs. Special high technology equipment has been installed in the clove clinics to reduce the aerosols generated during the treatment and clean the air. This technology uses high suction strength, coupled with special filters like the high fiber Cotton filter, fiberglass filter, HEPA (H13) filter and activated carbon filters. All this leads to clean air in the operatory and in the clinic.
Ideal Dental Care’s all dental clinics are fumigated regularly using Ultrasonic Humidifiers to ensure the clinics are free from all microbes like viruses, fungi, bacteria, protozoa, algae, and their spores.
There is research that proves UV light eliminates virus and micro bacterial contaminants. We have germicidal “UV-C” light” cabinets with a nm range of 200-280 placed in all our clinic. Cash, pipes/tubes and other belongings are sterilized in them after every handling. Sterilizing pouches are also stored in them to maintain the sterilization till their use.
Formalin or Formaldehyde is an effective chemical which is used to sterilize items and equipment which are prone to damage from Steam sterilization such as Autoclave. It has been used for sterilization of plastics, syringes, needles, small scissors, instruments, plaster models, impressions, or articles which cannot be autoclaved & used for external contact items only.
Hands are properly sanitized and dried before donning gloves. A new pair of gloves is worn for every patient. Gloves are even changed if they appear to be contaminated during the treatment.
They work as protective shields and prevent splatters & aerosols from getting into contact with the mucous membranes of the nose and mouth. N95/KN95 masks along with 3 ply Surgical Masks are used on the basis of the type of treatment being done. Even the patients are given face masks in case they are not carrying their own.
Protective eyewear is worn by doctors whenever there is a possibility that a patient’s body fluids may splash or spray onto the face/eyes or an aerosol is being formed. Even for the patient’s protection from instruments and splatter, we make the patient wear eyewear. Protective Eyewear is sanitized/sterilized after every use.
Face shields are used in conjunction with the face masks and provide extra protection from the spread of aerosols if any. Face Shields are also sanitized/sterilized after every use.
Gowns are critical elements of the PPE since they are the second- most-used piece of PPE, following gloves. No dental procedure is taken up without donning the surgical gown.
Worn by Doctors and Dental Assistants throughout the day covering every inch of their hair. These are used in keeping aerosols from lodging on the hair, which may then be transferred to family members or onto inanimate objects.
